Textron dividend: pay, cash and yield
MyStockButler's October 2026 analysis: Textron's dividend is $0.08 per share, and the latest annual dividend was only $18 million. From 2021 through 2025, Textron generated about $6.5 billion of cash from continuing operations, while dividends were $81 million and buybacks were about $4.9 billion.
How much does Textron pay in dividends over the years shown?

Textron repurchased 10.7 million shares for $822 million in 2025. That supports remaining shareholders, but it is a capital-allocation decision rather than evidence that the factories became equally more profitable. The company also recorded $81 million of share-based compensation expense, which is a cost and can add shares over time. The dividend remained $0.08 per share, so the next question is how much cash the business must retain to support growth.
The dividend stays at $0.08 per share in every scenario and period. That choice follows five years of unchanged payments and a latest annual dividend of only $18 million, small beside manufacturing cash flow. The evidence supports stability more strongly than either a cut or an increase.

How much would Textron's dividend pay you?
$10,000 invested in Textron at its 0.1% dividend yield (our report of October 30, 2026) pays $10.00 in the first year, before tax. Does Textron's cash cover its dividend?
From 2021 through 2025, the manufacturing businesses generated about $6.5 billion of cash from continuing operations and spent about $1.9 billion on capital expenditures such as plants and equipment. Research and development also consumed operating cash; it was $521 million in 2025.
Textron spent about $4.9 billion on share buybacks over those five years, compared with $217 million of net cash used for acquisitions. Dividends were $81 million, while 2025 buybacks were $822 million. A buyback reduces the number of shares outstanding, so each remaining share claims a larger portion of future earnings. It creates value only when Textron buys below the shares’ true worth or cannot earn more by investing inside the business.
| Jan 2026 | 2024 | 2023 | 2022 | Jan 2022 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| − Dividends paid | 18 | 12 | 16 | 17 | 18 |
| − Share buybacks | 822 | 1,122 | 1,168 | 867 | 921 |
| New shares sold | 40 | 88 | 73 | 44 | 116 |
| Acquisitions | 1 | 13 | 1 | 202 | 0 |
What this means. Acquisitions show the full cost of businesses bought and do not subtract money received from businesses sold, so they are not the company's net spending.
What could change Textron's dividend?
The bear probability would rise if engines, spars or other parts continue to constrain Aviation through 2027–2028, causing inventory and working capital to absorb more cash. A delayed MV-75 award, a larger unfavorable catch-up, or a costly Industrial separation would reinforce that shift.
