Assurant earnings: guidance and results
MyStockButler's October 2026 analysis: Assurant's next results are expected on November 3, 2026. Watch whether growth survives normal claims and fewer reserve benefits.
What has Assurant guided for 2026?
On August 4, management raised its outlook to mid-single-digit growth in adjusted EBITDA and adjusted earnings per diluted share, excluding reportable catastrophes. Lifestyle should lead with low-double-digit earnings growth, while Housing should grow modestly. The important qualification is prior-year reserve development: when an old claim is expected to cost less than first estimated, reducing its reserve increases current earnings.
That increase is legitimate, but it does not mean Assurant sold more protection or processed more devices. Management assumes no further favorable prior-year development in the second half. Excluding that effect, it targets 10.0% growth in both earnings measures.

| Period it covers | Low | High | Date given | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adjusted EBITDA, excluding reportable catastrophes | Year to Dec 2026 | Aug 4, 2026 | ||
| Adjusted earnings, excluding reportable catastrophes, per diluted share | Year to Dec 2026 | Aug 4, 2026 | ||
| Global Lifestyle Adjusted EBITDA | Year to Dec 2026 | Aug 4, 2026 | ||
| Global Housing Adjusted EBITDA, excluding reportable catastrophes | Year to Dec 2026 | Aug 4, 2026 | ||
| Share repurchases | Year to Dec 2026 | 300 | 350 | Aug 4, 2026 |
| Minimum level of holding company liquidity | Ongoing | 225 | Aug 4, 2026 |
What this means. The company’s 10 percent growth targets leave out favorable insurance reserve changes from earlier years, so they do not measure growth against the full prior-year result.
Has Assurant kept its promises?
Management’s record merits 3/5. Enterprise guidance finished above its initial target in three of four checked years, but Corporate and Other finished below in three of four. That makes the enterprise promise and the corporate-cost promise separate tests.
| What management forecast | Checked | Above | Within | Below |

| Adjusted earnings, excluding reportable catastrophes, per diluted share | 4 years | 3 | 0 | 1 |
| Corporate and Other Adjusted EBITDA | 4 years | 1 | 0 | 3 |

What should I watch in Assurant's next results?
Assurant releases third-quarter results after the market closes on November 3, 2026, followed by its call at 8 a.m. Eastern on November 4. Investors should look for Freedom policies appearing, attractive device-program margins and home-warranty spending that remains within the revised corporate loss plan.
Reserve development deserves separate attention. Additional favorable releases could lift reported earnings without proving faster underlying growth. Excluding reportable catastrophes also does not remove every weather effect: smaller storms, hail and wind claims remain in ordinary results. Management described Housing’s non-catastrophe claims frequency as lower than typical in Q2 2026.
