TJX earnings: guidance and next results
TJX’s next results are expected on November 18, 2026. Watch whether Marmaxx transactions recover.
What has TJX guided for FY27?
On August 19, TJX raised fiscal 2027 diluted earnings per share, or profit divided among shares including possible employee-issued shares, to $5.31–$5.36. Its adjusted range was $5.15–$5.20, excluding the net refund benefit.
Comparable sales measure growth at established stores. TJX still expects annual comparable-sales growth of 3.0%–4.0% and an adjusted pretax margin of 12.0%–12.1%. Because the sales target did not rise with the profit forecast, improvement must come partly from margins, buybacks or other efficiency.
| Period guided | Low | High | Date given | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adjusted consolidated pretax profit margin (FY27) | FY27 (Year to Jan 2027) | 12.0% | 12.1% | Aug 19, 2026 |
| Diluted earnings per share (FY27) | FY27 (Year to Jan 2027) | 5.31 | 5.36 | Aug 19, 2026 |
| Adjusted diluted earnings per share (FY27) | FY27 (Year to Jan 2027) | 5.15 | 5.20 | Aug 19, 2026 |
| consolidated comparable sales (FY27) | FY27 (Year to Jan 2027) | 3.0% | 4.0% | Aug 19, 2026 |
Has TJX kept its past promises?
Management also beat its fiscal 2026 promise. It had forecast comparable sales growth of 2%–3% and EPS of US$4.34–US$4.43. The year delivered 5% comparable growth and US$4.87 reported EPS; adjusted EPS was US$4.73 even after excluding a litigation-settlement benefit.
What have TJX’s last eight quarters shown?
Revenue grew 5.4%, while operating income grew 22.7% and diluted EPS grew 23.6%. Profit therefore rose much faster than sales, but the cause was not simply better selling.
| Aug 2026 | May 2026 | Jan 2026 | Nov 2025 | Aug 2025 | May 2025 | Feb 2025 | Nov 2024 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | 15,180 | 14,323 | 17,743 | 15,117 | 14,401 | 13,111 | 16,350 | 14,063 |
| Operating income | 1,987 | 1,686 | 2,354 | 1,888 | 1,620 | 1,316 | 1,847 | 1,693 |
| Net income | 1,520 | 1,332 | 1,773 | 1,442 | 1,243 | 1,036 | 1,398 | 1,297 |
| EPS, diluted | 1.36 | 1.19 | 1.58 | 1.28 | 1.10 | 0.92 | 1.23 | 1.14 |
What this means. Operating income is not the final profit because it leaves out interest, tax, and some separately reported costs such as investment write-downs and debt payoff charges.
What should TJX watch next?
TJX lists November 18, 2026 for third-quarter results and February 24, 2027 for fourth-quarter results. November follows the debt maturity and tests the October-quarter margin forecast; February tests holiday trading and the full-year result.
