What has to go right for Pentair's base case?

Earnings provide the largest operating judgment. The base case rises from $843 million in October 2027 to $948 million in October 2029. The bear case falls from $687 million to $673 million, while the bull case rises from $885 million to $1.057 billion. The base begins with normalized 2026 earnings of about $672 million, uses Pool shipment recovery and Taco sales above $620 million, and assumes no pool-market boom. The bear case reflects Pool sales falling about 18% in the latest quarter, weak margins and continued debt pressure. The bull case requires dealer gains, faster shipments and Taco exceeding its targets.

How much cash does Pentair really make?

A stricter measure deducts $37.0 million of stock-based pay. That pay is not normally a cash payment when granted, but it can dilute shareholders, so the deduction treats it as an economic cost. Pentair’s own free-cash-flow measure was $748.4 million because it included asset-sale proceeds.

What this means. The company's free cash flow is slightly higher because it includes money from selling property and from businesses it no longer runs; our count leaves those out.

What does an investor pay for Pentair today?

Pentair makes equipment that moves, heats, cleans and controls water, with pools at the center of its best-known business. At $65.435 a share on October 28, 2026, the stock looks inexpensive on forecast earnings—but that price assumes a recovery, a successful acquisition and debt that does not stay in the way.

Pentair makes the equipment that moves, treats and manages water, from a home’s pool to a city’s water system. Its business is a chain of equipment sales, replacement purchases and project work: money comes in through distributors, dealers and industrial customers, then goes out to factories, suppliers, employees, lenders and tax authorities.
