Lennar dividend: cash coverage
MyStockButler's October 2026 analysis: Lennar pays $2.00 per share annually, with a current quarterly rate of $0.50. Its −0.7% real free-cash-flow yield does not show that the payment is comfortably funded by surplus cash.
How much does Lennar pay in dividends?

Dividends remain $2.00 per share in the base case. The bear case cuts them to $1.00, while the bull case reaches $2.40 by the final date. The current quarterly rate is $0.50, and the annual rate has held at $2.00 for two years. Weak cash conversion prevents the forecast from assuming a base-case increase.

Is Lennar's dividend covered by its cash?
The pressure continued through the nine months ended August 31, 2026. Lennar reported net earnings of about $827 million but used $822 million in operating cash. What this means. The company's own net debt uses a minus sign to show net cash, while our table shows that same surplus as positive net cash.
What could change Lennar's dividend?
The forecast moves toward the bear case if orders and revenue weaken between October 2027 and October 2029, incentives rise and gross margin falls. Greater cash absorption by inventory, deposits and option commitments would push debt higher and shrink buybacks through FY2029. Lower earnings and cash conversion would also compress the multiple.
What is Lennar's dividend yield today?
The final test is cash. A 2.4% dividend yield offers income while investors wait, but the −0.7% real free-cash-flow yield does not show that the payment is comfortably funded by surplus cash. Recovery matters only if better margins become cash after inventory and land-access costs.
At $84.92 a share on October 23, 2026, Lennar trades at 16.1x trailing earnings. That means investors pay $16.10 for each dollar earned over the last twelve months. A P/E is useful only if profits repeat. Q3 2026 orders fell 9%. The average delivered home sold for $372,000, down from $383,000 a year earlier, while the 30-year mortgage rate was 7.32% on October 22, 2026. Affordability, demand and pricing therefore matter more than the headline multiple.

What this means. The enterprise value leaves out the finance arm’s borrowings, while free cash flow includes that arm, so these figures do not measure exactly the same parts of the company.
