Generac earnings: date, guidance and results

What has Generac guided for 2026?
On October 28, 2026, management kept its sales-growth forecast in the mid-to-high teens. About 2% of that growth should come from currency, acquisitions and divestitures, so the headline does not mean Generac will sell that many more generators itself. Residential sales are expected to grow in the high-single digits, while commercial and industrial, or C&I, sales should grow in the low-30% range.
Management also lifted the bottom of its adjusted EBITDA margin range to 20.5%, with the top at 21.0%. Adjusted EBITDA margin divides adjusted EBITDA—net income adjusted for interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization and selected other items—by sales. It helps compare operating performance, but it is not cash: factories, inventory, interest and debt payments still require money. Tariff refunds provide a 1.5-percentage-point gross-margin benefit in 2026, so part of the improvement may not repeat.

| Period guided | Low | High | Date given | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Net sales growth (mid-to-high teens percent range) | Year to Dec 2026 | October 28, 2026 | ||
| Net income margin, before deducting for non-controlling interests | Year to Dec 2026 | 9.0% | 10.0% | October 28, 2026 |
| Adjusted EBITDA margin | Year to Dec 2026 | 20.5% | 21.0% | October 28, 2026 |
| C&I segment sales growth (low 30% range) | Year to Dec 2026 | July 29, 2026 | ||
| Residential segment sales growth (high-single digit range) | Year to Dec 2026 | July 29, 2026 |
What this means. The company gives some sales-growth forecasts in words such as “mid-to-high teens” instead of exact percentages, so those low and high cells are blank.
Did Generac keep its past promises?
Management guides to mid-to-high-teens sales growth in 2026, with residential growth in the high-single digits and C&I growth in the low-30% range. Adjusted EBITDA margin guidance is 20.5% to 21.0%. Net income margin guidance is 9.0% to 10.0%. Sales-growth guidance was above or within target twice. Adjusted EBITDA and net-income margin guidance met that test once each.

What have Generac's recent results shown?
Revenue rose to $1.29 billion from $1.11 billion in the September 2025 quarter. Home standby and portable generators both improved, while data-center shipments drove C&I. Energy-storage shipments, domestic industrial distributors, and telecom were weaker. The recovery therefore reached beyond data centers, but it did not include every channel.

What this means. These are quarterly numbers, even though some descriptions say they show a whole year's results.
What should I watch in Generac's next results?
First, investors should watch Sussex’s fourth-quarter build, data-center shipments, staffing and explanations for delays. In the first quarter of 2027, Generac also expects more normal lead times for its domestic industrial distributor channel after moving production to Beaver Dam. That will show whether the new business is expanding without disrupting established customers.
