EchoStar earnings: next results and guidance
MyStockButler's October 2026 analysis: EchoStar’s next results are expected on November 5, 2026. Watch unrestricted cash after debt, claims, taxes and investment.
What has EchoStar guided for the year?
Its concrete milestones concern operations. Management expected capital expenditures to fall during 2026 and expected the DISH Wireless bankruptcy to finish in the fourth quarter. Those steps may reduce future demands, but they do not show how much cash will remain after debt repayments, claims, taxes and investment. That missing bridge leads directly to the quality of the earnings forecasts.
Has EchoStar kept its past promises?
The inherited 2022 plan tied rewards to revenue, cash flow and 30 million wireless subscribers. By the end of 2024, EchoStar reported achieving four cash-flow goals and the $40 billion revenue goal under the plan’s definitions and adjustments. Transition goals could retire the subscriber target, while a 2024 option exchange restored incentives after the share-price decline but softened its consequences.
What is EchoStar’s revenue and profit trend?
Quarterly revenue fell approximately 4.0% from a year earlier, while gross margin improved from 24.4% to 34.4% and operating income turned positive. That improvement deserves attention, but it was not a sales recovery. Pay-TV, broadband and satellite revenue declined, and all three major customer measures lost subscribers.
The decisive event came on June 30, when DISH DBS and legacy wireless entities entered bankruptcy. Deconsolidation removed their assets and liabilities from EchoStar’s accounts and created a noncash gain of $9.73 billion. A noncash gain is an accounting improvement, not money received. Removing it leaves June pretax income of $61.2 million, while June operating cash remained negative $10.0 million and free cash flow negative $102.3 million.

What this means. The large profit in June 2026 is mostly a noncash accounting gain from separating part of the business, not money the company earned from selling its products.
What should I watch in EchoStar’s next results?
Investors should also watch remaining FCC waiver decisions and the steps toward the SpaceX closing. The revealing capital-allocation announcement would identify unrestricted cash left after debt, claims, taxes and investment, then explain whether that cash will fund the business or return to shareholders. EchoStar can pay for what is ahead only when those obligations are settled and the money is legally available.
