Regions earnings
Regions' next results are expected on January 15, 2027. The key thing to watch is whether Regions can lift net interest income as older assets reprice and deposit costs behave as expected.
What has Regions guided for 2026?
For FY 2026, management expects net interest income growth of 2.5%–4.0%. Adjusted fee-income growth is 3.0%–5.0%. Adjusted expense growth is 1.5%–3.5%. It targets CET1 at 9.3%–9.8% and a dividend payout of 40%–50%. Net charge-offs are guided to 40–50 basis points of average loans.
| Period covered | Low | High | Date given | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CET1 ratio target | Operating range including AOCI; Basel III Endgame | 9.3% | 9.8% | Oct 16, 2026 |
| Dividend payout target | Ongoing | 40.0% | 50.0% | Oct 16, 2026 |
| Net Interest Income | FY 2026 vs. FY 2025 | 2.5% | 4.0% | Oct 16, 2026 |
| Adjusted Non-Interest Income | FY 2026 vs. FY 2025 | 3.0% | 5.0% | Oct 16, 2026 |
| Adjusted Non-Interest Expense | FY 2026 vs. FY 2025 | 1.5% | 3.5% | Oct 16, 2026 |
| Net Charge-Offs / Average Loans (basis points) | FY 2026 | 40 | 50 | Oct 16, 2026 |
What this means. Some rows have no numbers because the bank only said growth would be in the low single digits, meaning roughly one to three percent.
Did Regions keep its past promises?
The annual scorecard produced 111% of target. The longer test was tougher: the awards covering 2023–2025 paid out at 65% of target. That contrast shows how a strong year can coexist with a weaker multiyear result.
What is Regions' revenue and profit trend?
Q3 2026 improved from the prior year, but part of the lift may not repeat. Revenue, NII, net income, EPS, NIM and CET1 belong together in the quarterly comparison.
| Sep 2026 | Jun 2026 | Mar 2026 | Dec 2025 | Sep 2025 | Jun 2025 | Mar 2025 | Dec 2024 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | 1,973 | 1,907 | 1,873 | 1,921 | 1,916 | 1,905 | 1,784 | 1,815 |
| Net interest income | 1,298 | 1,277 | 1,248 | 1,281 | 1,257 | 1,259 | 1,194 | 1,230 |
| Net income | 631 | 570 | 559 | 534 | 569 | 563 | 490 | 534 |
| EPS, diluted | 0.71 | 0.64 | 0.62 | 0.58 | 0.61 | 0.59 | 0.51 | 0.56 |
What this means. The profit and earnings-per-share figures are for only the three months in each column, not the whole year.
What should Regions watchers look for next?
The next earnings test is the quarter to December 2026. Net interest income should rise 1.0%–2.0% from Q3, with NIM approximately 3.7%. The initial deposit-system pilot is planned for October 2026. A larger pilot follows in Q1 2027, with phased customer migrations during 2027.
The immediate financial test is net interest income. Regions expects it to rise in the December quarter, assuming another rate increase in December. The result will show whether older assets are repricing fast enough and whether deposit costs are behaving as management expects.
