How much does Société Générale pay per share?

Société Générale (GLE.PA) dividend per share: €1.65 paid in 2021, €1.61 in 2025; dividend yield 2.6 %

Base cash dividends rise from €1.85 per share to €2.40. The path follows management’s low-to-mid-teens dividend-growth aim and the recovery in nine-month EPS. The bear case cuts DPS to €0.80 as capital protection becomes necessary; the bull reaches €2.70 with stable credit, vehicle resale values and CET1. The €0.75 interim dividend is already excluded because it was paid before the forecast periods.

What this means. Other income is calculated by subtracting net interest income from revenue, so it is not a separate total reported directly by the bank.

How does Société Générale fund its dividend?

The bank’s earnings went to several uses: rebuilding capital, buying businesses, funding vehicles and technology, paying common dividends and repurchasing shares. The table distinguishes reported earnings from adjusted earnings, which helps explain distribution decisions without making exceptional losses disappear. It also separates acquisitions from ordinary operating investment.

What could change Société Générale's dividend?

The planned shareholder return has two parts. Ordinary distributions should exceed €13 billion over 2026–29 and come from a 50% payout of reported net income, split between dividends and buybacks. A further roughly €8 billion could be released if capital remains above the 13% CET1 target, taking the possible total above €21 billion. That is a four-year plan, not a guaranteed annual yield. The next question is how much of this recovery the market has already rewarded.

Across 2027–2029, credit migration or weaker vehicle resale values would reduce profit, CET1 headroom and buybacks. These are the clearest signals that the forecast should move lower.
