Dell dividend: cash coverage and yield

Dell pays dividends to shareholders, and its fiscal 2026 distributions were covered much better by free cash flow. Dell still depends on cash collection, borrowing, and customer financing because free cash flow has been volatile.

How much does Dell pay in dividends?

Base dividends begin at $2.52 per share, rise to $2.77, and then reach $3.05. The first figure is declared guidance; later increases are set at 10%, below the latest 20% increase because financing and investment compete for cash. The bear holds the payout flat, while the bull extends 20% annual increases to $3.62. Free cash flow has been volatile, and ordinary quarterly free cash flow was only $986 million.

Does Dell’s cash cover its dividend?

Fiscal 2026 covered distributions much better, but the rise in cash was not purely operating surplus because debt issuance supplied much of it. Dell Financial Services also lends to customers and leases them equipment. A customer can receive an expensive AI system while paying over several years, leaving Dell with a financing receivable rather than immediate cash. Dell may therefore need funding even after recording the sale.

What could change Dell’s dividend?

Through October 2029, receivables, customer financing and free cash flow will decide whether Dell can fund buybacks and dividends without adding debt. Strong collections and repeat AI deployments would support higher profit, lower net debt and a premium multiple.

What is Dell’s dividend yield today?

At $586.28 on October 11, 2026, Dell’s price assumes sharply higher and durable earnings.
