What has DCC guided for the year?

In May, chief executive Donal Murphy said takeover rules limited what DCC could say about forecasts during the offer period. In July, management said first-quarter operating profit was ahead of the previous year and in line with expectations, while still expecting growth and strategic progress for the year to March 2027.

Management’s longer-term ambition is roughly 3–4% average annual organic growth and 6–8% growth from acquisitions in Energy. Those are ambitions, not a forecast for this year.

What this means. The growth guidance is only a general statement about progress, not a specific forecast of how much sales or profit will grow.

Did DCC keep its past promises?

Management expects growth and strategic progress in the year to March 2027. Its longer-term ambition is 3–4% annual organic growth and 6–8% acquisition growth. Its FY2025 promise of good continuing operating-profit growth was met: Energy profit rose 3.5%, although organic growth was 1.3%.

What is DCC’s recent revenue and profit trend?

For the six months to March 2026, Energy revenue was £6.93 billion, compared with £6.78 billion in the same half a year earlier. Operating income was £336.01 million, compared with £299.07 million.

What should you watch in DCC’s next results?

DCC expects to publish results for the six months to 30 September on 10 November 2026. Those results should include part of the Central European businesses’ first period under DCC ownership. Look for reported growth, acquisition contributions and comparable organic growth, because total growth alone cannot show whether the pre-existing business improved.

From the full memo · 1. The business

DCC Energy is an energy distributor: it buys fuel and power, delivers them or the equipment that uses them, and earns a margin for making supply reliable. Its money story is simple at the centre—customers pay DCC, DCC pays suppliers and operating costs, and the margin left over supports profit and cash—though each business makes that story look different.
