Berkshire Hathaway earnings date and guidance
Berkshire Hathaway’s next results are expected on November 7, 2026. Watch whether Berkshire Hathaway’s operating profit turns into cash as litigation and construction compete for funding.
What has Berkshire Hathaway guided for 2026?
The commitments now visible describe financial resilience more clearly than future profit. Berkshire will not repurchase shares if consolidated cash, equivalents and Treasury bills fall below US$30,000 million. BHE and BNSF expect to spend US$8,600 million in the remainder of 2026.

What do Berkshire Hathaway’s last eight quarters show?
The June 2026 quarter improved, but currency accounting amplified the headline. Revenue and operating earnings rose, while net income and diluted EPS benefited from investment movements and comparison with a quarter containing an impairment.
The improvement was uneven. BNSF, Berkshire Hathaway Energy and manufacturing, service and retailing improved, while insurance underwriting and insurance investment income declined. GEICO’s underwriting earnings fell, showing why a stronger group total does not mean every subsidiary improved. OxyChem’s acquisition also contributed to manufacturing growth, so not all of that progress came from existing operations.

What should people watch in Berkshire Hathaway’s next results?
PacifiCorp, Berkshire’s utility, agreed to a US$575 million federal wildfire settlement, but its separate Oregon class-action case continued. The Oregon Supreme Court scheduled oral argument for November 3, 2026. An accrued loss is an accounting estimate, not a final court award: appeals can delay payment, and the eventual amount can differ. Litigation can therefore compete with safety upgrades and affect borrowing costs.
The decisive evidence will connect spending with outcomes: construction progress with usable capacity, new capacity with customer demand, and operating profit with cash generation. If those links hold, Abel will have shown that continuity is more than a promise; it is a method for financing Berkshire’s next chapter.
