Wells Fargo earnings date
Wells Fargo's next results are expected on January 14, 2027. Wells Fargo should watch whether the fourth-quarter NII outlook and annual expense plan were met.
What has Wells Fargo guided for the year?
Wells Fargo offers modest near-term appreciation and stronger value creation if post-cap growth produces durable income while returns and capital recover. For 2026, management guides to 50,000 million of net interest income. It guides to 55,700 million of noninterest expense. Its medium-term ROTCE target is 17.0%–18.0%; ROTCE means return on tangible common equity. Its CET1 target is 10.0%–10.5%.
| Period it covers | Low | High | Date given | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CET1 ratio target | Medium term | 10.0% | 10.5% | Oct 14, 2025 |
| Return on average tangible common equity (ROTCE) | Medium term | 17.0% | 18.0% | Mar 16, 2026 |
| 2026 net interest income (NII) | Year to Dec 2026 | 50,000 | 50,000 | Oct 13, 2026 |
| 4Q26 net interest income | Quarter to Dec 2026 | 13,000 | 13,000 | Oct 13, 2026 |
| Noninterest Expense | Year to Dec 2026 | 55,700 | 55,700 | Oct 13, 2026 |
| top 5 U.S. investment bank | Medium term | 5 | Mar 16, 2026 |
What this means. A low and high number that are the same is still an estimate, not a guarantee, and the “top five” row is a ranking goal rather than a dollar amount.
Has Wells Fargo kept its past promises?
Wells Fargo also uses forfeiture and clawback provisions, which can cancel or recover awards in defined circumstances. Its regulatory promise has measurable milestones: the Federal Reserve removed the asset cap in June 2025 and later ended the underlying enforcement action. Sustained customer treatment, risk discipline and returns remain the harder test.
What have Wells Fargo's last eight quarters shown?
September-quarter revenue rose 2.0% year over year, led by net interest income, which rose 4.7%. Noninterest income fell 1.4%, so stronger lending income did not produce equally strong total revenue. Wealth and Investment Management, Commercial Banking, Consumer Banking and Lending, and Corporate and Investment Banking all grew, but lower venture-investment revenue and lost lease income offset some gains.
Net income rose 6.5%, while EPS rose 12.7%, helped by a smaller share count and a prior-period tax benefit. NIM was lower, and CET1 also declined. Management’s targets describe more net interest income alongside substantial noninterest expense, which means the balance sheet is producing more dollars without proving that returns per dollar of assets are recovering.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | 21,870 | 22,622 | 21,446 | 21,292 | 21,436 | 20,822 | 20,149 | 20,378 |

| CET1 capital ratio | 10.0% | 10.3% | 10.3% | 10.6% | 11.0% | 11.1% | 11.1% | 11.1% |
What this means. The safest-money ratio shows the bank’s safety cushion against risky loans, not the bank’s profit.
What should Wells Fargo watchers look for next?
Results scheduled for January 14, 2027 will show whether the bank met its fourth-quarter NII outlook and annual expense plan. They should also clarify the starting point for 2027: revenue growth, expense control and retained earnings must improve together.
