What has News Corp guided for Dow Jones?

News Corp’s financial year ends in June, so FY27 runs through June 2027. Management expects continued revenue growth and margin expansion at Dow Jones, which owns The Wall Street Journal and other business-information services. Margin expansion means keeping more profit from each dollar of sales.

The longer-term ambition is larger: Dow Jones could reach $1 billion of annual segment EBITDA within five years. EBITDA measures operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization. It resembles a bakery’s surplus after ingredients and wages, but before taxes, loan interest and replacement ovens. In FY26, News Corp’s total segment EBITDA was $1.63 billion, while free cash flow was $811 million. The difference shows why EBITDA is not cash available to spend.

Has News Corp kept its past promises?

Management has also delivered some stated promises. The OPIS strategy became an acquisition, and the company said it would return Foxtel shareholder-loan proceeds through repurchases; repurchases accelerated substantially in fiscal 2026. Those actions support execution, though they do not prove every investment earned a good return.

What has News Corp’s revenue and profit trend been?

The June 2026 quarter strengthened across sales, margins, operating profit and cash, but the comparison base was unusually weak.

What this means. Gross margin here subtracts operating expenses, so it is not the usual measure of profit left after the direct cost of making products.

What should I watch in News Corp’s next results?

News Corp’s next scheduled checkpoint is November 4, 2026, when it reports the September quarter. Investors should watch Dow Jones growth and margins, California Post costs and the housing businesses. Cash also needs a seasonal reading because management says free cash flow arrives more heavily in the second half of its financial year.

News Corp makes money by selling information, access, and introductions. Its businesses range from newspapers and books to professional data and property websites, so a dollar enters through several different doors before it pays the costs of creating and delivering those products.
