What has AutoZone guided for FY2027?

Management expects domestic same-store sales to be flat to up in the low single digits, with average ticket growth of about 4%. It expects commercial sales to grow at a high single-digit to low double-digit rate. International same-store sales are expected to grow in the low to mid-single digits on a constant-currency basis, which holds exchange rates steady so local demand is not confused with a weaker peso or real.

The cost plan is substantial. AutoZone expects roughly 400 store openings in FY2027 and about 3% growth in selling, general and administrative expenses per store. Total SG&A is expected to rise about 8%, before every new location has matured. The aging U.S. vehicle fleet supports the need for replacement parts, but management has not said how much transaction recovery is required or given an FY2027 EPS target. Those are the first gaps analysts must fill.

What do AutoZone's last eight quarters show?

The fourth quarter ended more strongly, but it does not yet establish a durable recovery in underlying demand. Fiscal 2026’s fourth quarter covered 16 weeks, and revenue and operating results improved from the prior year.

What this means. The fiscal quarters are not all the same length: most cover twelve weeks, but the fourth quarter covers sixteen weeks, so its numbers are not directly comparable.

What should AutoZone watchers look for next?

The next earnings release is expected around December 8, 2026, though the date was not confirmed. Investors should look for ticket growth alongside stable transactions, and for sales growth that absorbs the planned SG&A increase. They should also watch whether commercial and new-store investment begins to improve productivity.
