Sysco earnings: date, guidance and what to watch
Sysco's next results are expected on November 3, 2026. Watch whether local customer growth turns into profitable delivery growth.
What has Sysco guided for fiscal 2027?
On September 9, 2026, Sysco reaffirmed fiscal 2027 sales growth of 6.0%–7.0%, to approximately $90,000 million. It expects adjusted earnings per share of $5.02–$5.12, up 9.0%–11.0%. Adjusted earnings remove specified expenses from the profit calculation.
The larger promise is at least $500 million of annualized AI-powered efficiency savings by fiscal 2029, including $100 million of in-year net savings in fiscal 2027. Annualized means the expected yearly benefit once a change is fully operating. If routing software saved $30 million, that would not be the net benefit if implementation cost $10 million; the saving would need to cover that cost first.
| The period guided | Low | High | The date it was given | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Net sales growth | Fiscal 2027 | 6.0% | 7.0% | Sep 9, 2026 |
| Net sales | Fiscal 2027 | 90,000 | 90,000 | Sep 9, 2026 |
| Adjusted earnings per share | Fiscal 2027 | 5.02 | 5.12 | Sep 9, 2026 |
| Adjusted EPS growth | Fiscal 2027 | 9.0% | 11.0% | Sep 9, 2026 |
| In-year net cost savings | Fiscal 2027 | 100 | 100 | Sep 9, 2026 |
| Annualized net sales growth | Fiscal 2028–2029 | 4.0% | 7.0% | Sep 9, 2026 |
What this means. The growth numbers are not directly comparable because most include an extra week in the year, while local case growth compares two 52-week periods.
Did Sysco keep its past promises?
Management met its latest stated operating promises. In July 2025, it forecast fiscal 2026 adjusted earnings per share within a range of $4.50–$4.60. It delivered $4.61. Adjusted earnings per share removes selected items from the standard accounting result, so it aids comparison but is not the whole accounting result. Management also promised at least 2.5% second-half local case growth and reported 2.9%.
How have Sysco's revenue and profit changed?
The snapshot price was $82.22 on October 19, 2026; trailing earnings implied 22.5x. Free-cash-flow yield was 4.8% and dividend yield was 2.7%; Sysco’s own free-cash-flow measure includes asset-sale proceeds. Revenue rose across the period, but operating margin ended below its earlier level; diluted EPS turned down while real free cash flow improved per share and as a share of revenue, with net debt still substantial.
| Jun 2026 | Mar 2026 | Dec 2025 | Sep 2025 | Jun 2025 | Mar 2025 | Dec 2024 | Sep 2024 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | 22,124 | 20,519 | 20,762 | 21,148 | 21,138 | 19,598 | 20,151 | 20,484 |
| Gross margin | 18.7% | 18.6% | 18.3% | 18.4% | 18.9% | 18.3% | 18.1% | 18.3% |
| Operating income | 983 | 619 | 692 | 800 | 889 | 681 | 712 | 808 |
| Net income | 551 | 340 | 389 | 477 | 531 | 401 | 406 | 490 |
| EPS, diluted | 1.15 | 0.71 | 0.81 | 0.99 | 1.10 | 0.82 | 0.82 | 0.99 |
What this means. Free cash flow can be negative even when cash from operations is positive because the company spent more on equipment than its daily business generated.
What should investors watch in Sysco's next results?
November 3, 2026 is the next scheduled results release. Start with local independent customers: is Sysco winning accounts, retaining them and capturing more of each kitchen’s purchases? That last measure is wallet share. Sysco’s salesperson wins the account, warehouse employees select the order and a truck delivers it; the company earns money only if the gross profit covers those selling and delivery costs.
