Boston Scientific earnings date and guidance
Boston Scientific's next results are expected on October 28, 2026. Boston Scientific must show how much outage-related sales it recovered and what it now expects for cash generation.
What has Boston Scientific guided for the year?
Management’s July 2026 outlook called for 5%–6% organic sales growth. It also called for $3,800 million of free cash flow for FY 2026. After the cyber disruption, management said it would provide a new outlook on October 28, 2026.
| Period guided | Low | High | Date given | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cash provided by (used for) operating activities | FY 2026 | 4,700 | 4,700 | Jul 29, 2026 |
| Purchases of property, plant and equipment and internal use software | FY 2026 | 900 | 900 | Jul 29, 2026 |
| Free Cash Flow | FY 2026 | 3,800 | 3,800 | Jul 29, 2026 |
| Tax Rate, adjusted | FY 2026 | 11.5% | 11.5% | Jul 29, 2026 |
| EP International Net Sales Growth — Net sales growth, organic | FY 2026 | 20.0% | 20.0% | Jul 29, 2026 |
| Other Business Units Net Sales Growth — Net sales growth, organic | 2H 2026 | 6.0% | 6.0% | Jul 29, 2026 |
What this means. These are July estimates, and although the table calls them guidance in force, the company has not confirmed that the remaining numbers still apply.
Did Boston Scientific keep its past promises?
Adjusted operating margin was 28.0% against a 27.6% target. Mahoney’s annual bonus reached 173% of target. These results show a measurable link between pay and performance, although they do not show whether the targets were demanding enough.
What do Boston Scientific’s last eight quarters show?
As of October 17, 2026, Boston Scientific had not reported its third-quarter results. The accounts therefore support two separate conclusions: the underlying growth engines had weakened before the cyber incident, and the incident left the amount of delayed or recoverable revenue unresolved.
| Jun 2026 | Mar 2026 | Dec 2025 | Sep 2025 | Jun 2025 | Mar 2025 | Dec 2024 | Sep 2024 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | 5,442 | 5,203 | 5,286 | 5,065 | 5,061 | 4,663 | 4,561 | 4,209 |
| Gross margin | 70.7% | 69.5% | 69.6% | 69.9% | 67.7% | 68.8% | 67.9% | 68.8% |
| Operating income | 1,178 | 1,101 | 825 | 1,048 | 819 | 921 | 675 | 733 |
| Net income | 907 | 1,341 | 672 | 755 | 797 | 674 | 566 | 469 |
| EPS, diluted | 0.61 | 0.90 | 0.45 | 0.51 | 0.53 | 0.45 | 0.38 | 0.32 |
| = Free cash flow | 1,279 | 171 | 1,013 | 1,162 | 1,129 | 354 | 1,179 | 823 |
What this means. Net income was unusually high in March 2026 because of a one-time tax benefit, not because the business suddenly became much more profitable.
What should Boston Scientific watchers look for next?
On October 28, Boston Scientific plans to report third-quarter results and provide a new operating and financial outlook. Investors should look for the amount of outage-related sales management says it recovered, whether customer orders have normalized and what it now expects for full-year cash generation. Restored operations are encouraging, but they do not show how much demand was permanently lost.
Next come the Penumbra closing and the EP launches. Closing would begin the integration period and the expected initial EPS dilution. The second-half 2027 launch of FARAWAVE Ultra and the entry into ICE imaging will test the product-led recovery story. Launches alone will not prove that physicians have adopted the products.
