Is Accenture's dividend covered by its cash?
Dividends rose from US$2,457,306 thousand in fiscal 2022 to US$3,987,313 thousand in fiscal 2026. In fiscal 2025, dividends and buybacks represented 85.9% of real free cash flow; in fiscal 2024, they exceeded that year’s generation. Accenture also sold US$1,341,025 thousand of new shares in fiscal 2026. Debt later became more important, with $5 billion of senior unsecured notes outstanding by August 2025.
Stock compensation was $2.1 billion. It is recorded as an expense but added back to operating cash because granting shares does not immediately use cash. Economically, however, the payment still transfers value from existing owners through dilution or through cash repurchases. Deducting it leaves a stricter free-cash-flow measure of $9.52 billion.

What could change Accenture's dividend?
During FY2027–FY2029, AI projects must move into production and generate repeat work at healthy prices rather than reduce paid hours and fees. In FY2027, the planned $8 billion of acquisition investment must produce follow-on work and cash returns while Accenture funds dividends and buybacks. FY2027 federal demand is expected to improve after reducing FY2026 growth; the test is whether this is a lasting recovery or mainly an easier comparison. The federal investigation and unresolved U.S.–Ireland tax agreement remain risks to earnings and cash following FY2026.

What is Accenture's dividend yield today?
Cash matters too. A 9.4% free-cash-flow yield and a 3.3% dividend yield provide useful starting measures, but acquisitions also consume cash. Buybacks can lift earnings per share without improving the business: Accenture expects its share count to fall about 3% in FY27, which could raise EPS about 3.1% if total profit stays unchanged.
