CCB earnings: date, guidance and what to watch
CCB's next results are expected on October 31, 2026. Watch whether margin recovery reaches shareholders after credit-loss charges.
What has CCB guided for the year?
CCB’s permanent dividend promise is lower than the payout it has recently chosen. An annual payout ratio is the share of profit returned to shareholders in cash. CCB’s policy requires at least 10% of the relevant annual profit, while its recent annual ratio was 30.0% in both 2024 and 2025. The first figure is a floor; the second shows management’s current balance between dividends and retained capital.
President Zhang Yi also said CCB expects to keep its net interest margin ahead of comparable banks through 2026. Net interest margin is what the bank retains from lending and investments after paying funding costs. CCB plans to support it by controlling funding costs, attracting settlement deposits and adjusting its loan and investment mix. That is operating guidance, not an earnings guarantee.
| Period covered | Target in the bank's words | Date given | |
|---|---|---|---|
| The cash dividends distributed by the Bank in a year | Standing annual policy | No less than 10% of the Group’s net profit attributable to equity shareholders of the Bank for the same year | Aug 28, 2026 |
Has CCB kept its past promise?
One promise has an observable result. CCB said it would control deposit-interest costs. By the first half of 2026, its deposit interest rate had fallen 29 basis points from a year earlier. That is consistent with the promised direction, though it does not isolate management’s contribution.
How have CCB's revenue and profit trended?
The June 2026 quarter shows a real recovery in interest income, but credit charges absorbed much of the benefit. Revenue and net interest income both grew year on year, and profit also rose, making this a stronger improvement than one driven only by trading gains.
| Jun 2026 | Mar 2026 | Dec 2025 | Sep 2025 | Jun 2025 | Mar 2025 | Dec 2024 | Sep 2024 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | 219,918 | 206,415 | 180,590 | 174,376 | 199,915 | 185,990 | 176,223 | 177,516 |
| Profit after tax | 84,856 | 86,821 | 81,344 | 95,808 | 78,896 | 83,742 | 79,170 | 92,073 |
What should investors watch in CCB's next results?
The next results should show whether margin recovery reaches shareholders after credit-loss charges. Rising retained earnings alongside stable capital ratios would suggest that growth is being funded safely. Rising profit alongside shrinking capital headroom would suggest that expansion is consuming the gains.
