How much does HPE pay in dividends?

FY2025 revenue grew 13.8%, but operating margin was -1.3%; growth did not improve HPE’s economics. HPE moved from net cash in FY2024 to $5,600 million net debt in FY2025. The decisive per-share figure is real free cash flow of -$0.01. Diluted EPS was -$0.04 despite $0.52 dividends paid per share. Stock pay was $0.49 per share.

What this means. The company's own free cash flow per share looks higher because it does not subtract shares given to employees as pay; we subtract them because they reduce each shareholder's share of the cash.

Is HPE's dividend covered by its cash?

HPE generated $2.581 billion of free cash flow in the first nine months of FY2026. The test is whether it can produce the larger forecast repeatedly while funding growth and supporting the dividend. The dividend offers a modest cash return, but coverage should be judged against recurring free cash flow and preferred distributions, not adjusted earnings alone.

What this means. In October 2025, the company paid shareholders more cash than it generated, so it had to use other cash or borrow money.

What could change HPE's dividend?

Management guides FY2027 to revenue growth of 13.0%–17.0% and adjusted EPS growth of 16.0%–20.0%. It also targets a 14.0%–15.0% adjusted operating margin and at least $5,000 million of free cash flow. For the quarter ending October 2026, guidance is revenue of $13,900 million–$14,800 million and non-GAAP diluted EPS of $1.20–$1.30.

Dividends begin at $0.57 per share in the base case, matching four payments at the declared quarterly rate. They rise to $0.60 and $0.64 as cash generation improves. The bear case cuts the annual amount to $0.48 after October 2027 because FY2025 free cash flow covered less than dividends. The bull case reaches $0.60, $0.68 and $0.76, but requires profitable AI deliveries and collections. Management’s 75% cash-return statement covers total shareholder returns, not dividends alone.

What this means. Hewlett Packard Enterprise's net debt excludes its Financial Services business, so it does not cover all of the group's borrowing and cash.

What is HPE's dividend yield today?

Hewlett Packard Enterprise sells the machinery and software that organizations use to compute, store information, connect systems and keep them running.
